ADAMYA
- a series
अदम्य (adamya) literally means indomitable, someone impossible to defeat or subdue. This is a photo-series which talks about physical abuse, especially in teenage relationships.
According to a survey, 27% of women have experienced physical violence since the age 15 in India. Nearly half (43%) of dating college women report experiencing violent and abusive dating behaviors. Only 33% of teens who were in a violent relationship ever told anyone about the abuse. 81% percent of parents believe teen dating violence is not an issue or admit they don’t know if it’s an issue.
This series acts as a reminder for you to check on yourself and people around you and to remember that the only thing you should ever wish about pain and abuse is, for it to stop.
“To those who abuse: the sin is yours, the crime is yours, and the shame is yours. To those who protect the perpetrators: blaming the victims only masks the evil within, making you as guilty as those who abuse. Stand up for the innocent or go down with the rest.”
